Julia Chuzhoy received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Technion, Israel in 2004. After spending several years as a postdoctoral scholar at MIT, University of Pennsylvania and Institute for Advanced Study, she joined TTIC in 2007. Her research area is theoretical computer science, with the main emphasis on the design and the analysis of approximation algorithms for NP-hard problems and proving lower bounds on their approximability. She is especially interested in problems with strong connections to graph theory. She is a recipient of the NSF Career award, Sloan Research Fellowship, and she was an invited speaker at the 2014 International Congress of Mathematicians.
Dr. Chuzhoy also has a personally maintained website which can be found at http://www.ttic.edu/chuzhoy
